Spring ...

my least favourite season!
I love the look of the blossoms, the birds making nests, which they have been doing for weeks now, and the warmer weather.
But I don't like the wind!!!!!!
And I don't like the hay fever!!!!!
And I especially don't like the wattles in bloom - despite the fact that they look gorgeous.

I was at a friend's house yesterday and we were talking about how many branches and leaves are around on the ground at the moment, mostly eucalyptus - a good time to be collecting and dyeing, if only we didn't feel so rotten with the allergies.

I drove through an intersection yesterday where the air was filled with fluff, so much so that it was like driving through a light sandstorm. It wasn't indigenous trees, though. I think they were those trees that have the round seedpods that are all spiky and split to throw out fluffy seeds.

Hi Mary, you had better not visit my place - we LOVE acacias, and have a dozen varieties growing in both back and front yards, including my favourite - our Aussie floral emblem, the stunning Golden Wattle. Just as well I don't have any allergies!

Parlance, I was recently waling at Yarra Bend park and the river had large areas covered in yellow - all from the wattles. Headhache season, unfortunately.

Gina, I love the look of wattles, I love the emblem, I just can't take the headaches they bring on.
