Not much progress!

I'm still working on the small tapestry. It is not helped by the fact that I have changed the cartoon while work is in progress. As I said in my last post, I have reduced the number of traffic signs. But I may not have made the larger roundabout sign big enough.

I have woven, unpicked, woven, unpicked, etc. I think I have done it 4 times! I have decided to just do it, life is imperfect, so will the tapestry be.

On a brighter note: the weather is warm and pleasant at the moment. It's probably not good really, still drought and unusually warm. But it does entice me out.

On my perambulations (what we call a walk when we don't want to use that w word! - we have a dog.) I saw some interesting faces in places - things that look like faces, or aliens, or animals .

Here are some random pictures.

I am doing a post because I was reminded of the date (thanks Sue). It is 5/5/25.

It keeps me entertained!

I'm not the only one.

I just saw this article, about seeing faces in inanimate object and how we can react to them.

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/jul/07/so-happy-to-see-you-our-brains-respond-emotionally-to-faces-we-find-in-inanimate-objects-study-reveals

I often see faces when out walking, in tree trunks, leaves, on buildings, etc. If you want to see past ones, try putting in FACES in the search part. But there are others. Too many to put in links.

I went to a nearby park today and saw several faces, mostly of dogs - it is a dog friendly park.

I transferred the photos from my phone to the computer and couldn't see them as easily. I had to go back to the phone to find them - I think they are easier to see when small. But I will post them anyway.

There is a face in profile here, plus a couple of other animal faces above it.
Definitely a dog-friendly park.

This one has a dog's face and its front legs. Well, that's what I saw. But looking at it now, all I see is the face of the dog.

Not sure whether this is a human, alien or animal face. But there is definitely a face! If not a few.

Seeing Faces

As I have posted before, I often see faces in images - not always human faces.
I really like the Faces in Places site.

Today I took a photo of some rain in a puddle - yes, the heat has abated and we have LOTS of rain. Not as bad as forecast, here in Melbourne, but still very wet.
We were outside, trying to divert some of the water lying around and I loved the raindrops hitting the water.

I am participating in one of those strange Facebook things that gets lots of people to put up images in black and white. Not sure what it is about but am enjoying it, so have decided to put up the images but not call on others to participate.

Here it is in black and white.

I first saw a vague sort of face, which I can see in both the colour and black and white images.

Then I returned to the image and half glanced at it and saw another face.

Not sure if they are obvious to others, but they are to me.

Seeing faces in places

I think I have posted about something similar to this before. But I just had to do it again.

I was at the Australian Quilt Convention recently. As I was leaving, I spied a possum asleep in a tree in the park outside the Exhibition Building. I took a photo.

Then I decided that I often see faces in places and that the tree vaguely resembled a face. But when I got home I decided that it wasn't all that face-like.

Yesterday I was browsing my photos and came across the photos again. One thing I noticed was that the plastic around the tree, to stop possums climbing, didn't seem to be that effective (unless the possum can't get out of the tree).
Then I saw a little dog's face in the tree. It is right in the middle of the photo.

I have zoomed in so you can see it more clearly (in case you didn't notice it in the photo). It is rather pixilated but I think the dog's face is really clear.

Face on a Seat

While out walking at Yarra Bend recently, I saw this seat.  It made me think of Faces in Places, a very amusing site of photos.

As we got closer, it looked less like a face but still not too bad. It actually reminded me of a dog, very appropriate as it is a dog friendly park.

I seem to have run out of oomph lately, hence this rather random post.
I can't blame it on the weather, we are having the occasional hot day followed by lovely cool days and, more importantly, nights.
I am trying to finish the blackwork but it is an uphill battle at the moment, probably because I am not totally pleased with the design. Oh well, soldier on and see what eventuates.

tree stump

While walking home from the station today, we came across this tree stump.

Lately I have been heavily into to looking at trees, trunks, patterns, etc, in my local surroundings.  So it was interesting to see the patterns and texture.
But it also reminded me of a face (well, I can see a face!) and a fun site - Faces in Places.
